Job Description

Your Role and Responsibilities:

1. Participate in architecture and design discussions. Research existing code and do prototyping to determine if design is right approach to address requirement. Write Solutions External document and high level design document and use TeamReview tool to post document and collect reviewer
comments.
2. Write code in C++ using templates, inheritance, classes, arrays, hashmaps, pointers, and vectors.
3. Use Totalview debugging tool and db2trace trace points to unit test code by setting breakpoints,
looking at memory, and changing variable values to change the flow of code.
4. Create function verification plan. Write function verification testcases in PERL script. Debug and execute function verification testcases. Investigate defects found by analyzing error messages in the db2diag.log file found in the db2dump directory, looking at stack traces and First Occurrence Data Capture files.
5. Investigate defects found in system verification test by using db2dart and db2pd tools to format data pages on disk and in memory. Analyze deadlock traces to determine lock holders and waiters and find out the root cause of deadlocks.
6. Use Db2 performance monitoring to analyze bottlenecks and determine which Db2 engine functions are consuming the most time.
