At DataScan, we are building a future that is invested in providing flexible tools for the wholesale asset financing and risk management industry and we are looking for outstanding developers to join our UI team! The ideal individual is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities include:



    • Translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce rich internet web applications.

    • Develop new user-facing features

    • Build reusable code and libraries for future use

    • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

    • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

    • Collaborate with other team members and mentor junior UI developers

    • Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interfaces, software architecture, and the use of new technologies

    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills

    • Defines and disseminates technology best practices


Requirements:



    • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS/LESS/SASS (5 years plus)

    • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting, JavaScript, and TypeScript frameworks/libraries (5 years plus)

    • Proficient knowledge of Object-Oriented JavaScript

    • Proficient understanding of Angular (2+ Years)

    • Proficient understanding of NodeJS (2+ Years)

    • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, AJAX, and REST

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or Mercurial

    • Well-versed in software engineering principles, frameworks, and technologies

    • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and time management abilities.

    • Self-directed team player who thrives in a continually changing environment.

    • Bachelors or Masters in computer science.

    • Prior experience in mobile application development

    • Proficient understanding of Webpack 1+ Years

    • Experience in Photoshop, XD, Sketch, Balsamiq, Axure or other visual design and wire-framing tools

    • Prior coding experience in JEE middleware and back end technologies (Examples: Spring, Oracle, Hibernate, web services, etc)

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Prior experience in the financial industry, preferably wholesale financing

    • Prior experience with different software methodologies (waterfall, Kanban, Agile, etc.)
