Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills
Understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices (including security and scalability)
Proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS Advanced knowledge of data analysis, profiling, and conceptual modeling
Extensive experience in developing AWS data services (EC2, S3, Athena, EMR, AWS Glue, AWS CLI, Glacier, Redshift and Lambda)
Hands on experience in building Data Lakes using AWS services. Monitoring and optimizing the data lake environment
Experience in building data ingesting services using Kinesis or other AWS services
Hands on experience in Data cataloging using AWS Glue,node.js, Pyspark, Scala and cloud formation
Experience with in-place querying using Amazon Athena or Redshift
Demonstrated understanding of Apache projects such as Spark, Hadoop, Airflow
Advanced knowledge of SQL and scripting tools for automation such as R, Python, etc.
Advanced knowledge technical and functional designs for databases, ETL, data warehousing, and reporting
Strong hands-on experience in development in the AWS cloud environment
Ability to work collaboratively and influence the project team to achieve the goals
Ability to manage time and pressures to work on multiple initiatives at the same time
Ability to work with the team to put together estimations, presentations, risks, and solutions
Ability to work well in a matrix organization leading employees and consultants
Team player who can mentor and guide developers and strategic partners on strategic and tactical application designs
Good analytical, problem solving and technical writing skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Communication skills to clearly articulate and represent engineering team in project and/or solution meetings
