SQL Database Administrator

Position:
Our client manages billion of rows of data and are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to help maintain our data and look for new and better ways to store it. As our DBA leader, you will work closely with a team of developers to develop customer-centric software products from concept to production and provide outstanding reporting on the massive data and how we store it. Our client is looking for someone who enjoys working in our downtown Chicago office in a highly collaborative environment that values quality and speed, along with a strong desire to drive change as we continue to improve our processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage SQL Server 2012 and above
  • Manage Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Manage the operations for both development and production databases
  • Create and configure monitors to establish the health of servers and the databases running on them
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Submit service requests to software vendors and drive resolution through to completion
  • Work with internal teams to plan and schedule application upgrades
  • Manage day-to-day replication processes
  • Able to perform after-hours and/or weekend support for key deployments or on-call support
  • Work with architects and management to help determine and deploy the best datastore technology and data model strategy for their needs
