Job Description:
Principal Duties / Essential Functions:
* Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help support and install internal and external networks.
* Evaluation of new and current technology and architecture as it relates to the Datacenter and branch topology.
* Independence of Action ? Expected to work at senior level. Autonomy is provided with oversight from manager and feedback from team as needed.
* Maintaining existing software/hardware and upgrading, patching, and replacing as necessary.
* Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
* Daily administration of LAN/WAN including system stability, integrity, and troubleshooting.
* Daily administration of monitoring system including maintaining accurate information in the monitoring system.
* Responsible for router, switch, SD-WAN (Talari) and phone configurations operations.
* Perform network analysis and optimization recommendations.
* Must provide documentation of network systems, operational procedures, network topology and hardware inventory.
* Interface with field office personnel, telecommunications vendors and internal staff.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* In-depth understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures utilized to support networked systems.
* Strong Routing and switching skills (CCNP, CCIE)
* Implemented and maintained Cisco IP Telephony applications included Cisco CUCM, Cisco Unity, Cisco IP Communication
* In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, OTV)
* Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
* Ability to maintain and write clear, complete documentation of work completed.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Technical abilities in troubleshooting, problem isolation and resolution in a converged network environment.
* Strong customer service skills with related experience in dealing with end users, vendors, telecommunication companies and internal customers.
* Organizational and project management skills including; ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks and follow through to completion of tasks and projects.
* Required to develop and track projects through the use of Workfront.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team
