The Senior Data Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI will design and develop integrated data solutions, modernizing, assessing business information needs across several applications, and preparing system requirements. Develop high quality data solution on test driven development and continuous integration practices and establish monitoring and automation processes. Analyze business and functional specifications to deliver high-quality data solutions while maintaining development best practices and optimizing maintainability and supportability. Create detailed data designs and implement them in an agile way. Learn and apply new cloud-based solutions and enhancements and maintenance of existing solutions. Lead and produce functional and technical designs of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) components (Informatica) and data solutions, and participate in all phases of development, testing and production support. Conduct batch and near real-time data integration. Proven work with relational databases (e.g. DB2 LUW, MySQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 z/OS). Use Unix/Linux scripting and SQL. Willing to learn new technical skills in order to participate in a financial services – investment domain digital transformation, technologies like; Java (Vertx, Spring), AWS, JavaScript (NodeJS, ReactJS), Ansible, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Dockers, Kubernetes, data security and cloud data solutions.
