Job Description:

This position is responsible for writing accurate and efficient program code, updating and expanding existing programs, debugging existing programs, and testing software with both manual and automated unit test approaches. Create and maintain quality applications software to automate business functions based upon the project plan for the Guidewire implementations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Solves moderately complex requirement changes in the appropriate Guidewire suite of tools.
  • Writes Java and GOSU code to develop solutions for business requirements in a collaborative team environment.
  • Reads and understands Guidewires’ documentation and diagrams to facilitate problem solving.
  • Develop software and integration services.
  • Create and modify rules and rulesets.
  • Completes agile stories involving Guidewires’ entity model, typelist(s), and UI widgets.
  • Conduct Architectural & Technical reviews during the SDLC to meet internal development standards including Guidewire’s Best practices.
  • Participate and present during code reviews and UAT sessions.
  • Participate in daily standup meetings, project checkups, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate status via defined processes and project management tools.

PLACEMENT CRITERIA:

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision with substantial latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, excellent problem solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities as generally acquired through five years of experience.
  • Should be willing to develop an understanding of the insurance business.
