Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

           The Network Engineer will be required to test and analyze all elements of the network facilities including power, software, security features, communications devices, lines, modems and terminals and for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The candidate will be responsible for the planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of the network.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, troubleshoot and support local and wide-area network systems.
  • Consult with clients to analyze and understand network requirements.
  • Documents network requirements and estimates feasibility cost and schedule.
  • Monitor and control the performance and status of the network resources.
  • Prepares plans outlining steps and timetable for designing and implementing network solutions.
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools, identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of vendor products and ability to match vendor products to client needs.
  • Must be able to provide guidance and direction for less experienced network support technicians.

Required Skills:

  • Current hands on network administration skills and network management experience.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills in support of Linux/UNIX and Windows servers Network devices, and Applications servers and the ability to quickly adapt to new system environments and interface with systems.
  • Ability to lead and manage a small network team and follow change management process including creating required change management documentation.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in engineering, configuring, or managing failover configurations of network components and load balancing components.
  • Technical writing & documentation skills/drawings (MS Visio, Word, Excel).
  • Must be a self-starter and can work independently with minimum direction.
